No good.

This looks like version 0.01 of a Mario level-editor project. There are barely any objects to put down, that's obviously the main thing. There should be something to auto-align objects when you put them on the ground, like maybe if you try to put two solid objects in the same place they block for a second while your dragging - if you see what I mean.

Clean graphics. But it's kind of astounding you thought this was good enough with so little content.

you CAN be nicer can't you |:(

Fix your ActionScript.

There's significant lag that's close to making the game unbearable, even on the lowest quality setting. Optimize your code or something, do something to the graphics - I'm not an expert on making smooth-running Flash games, but you should work on it.

If it weren't for that, the game might actually be fun and I would have rated it 5. But yeah, a nice effort, you at least went to the trouble of getting nice graphics even if you didn't make them yourself (which you need to learn how to do on an at least basic level if you're going to be making flash games).

Too hard.

It's a nice little game, with one huge problem: the electric fence thingies. Well, them and all the other instant-kill obstacles. They turn on and off too quickly and the slippery controls don't help, so they just really damage the experience. I reccomend removing the slide from the movement controls, and maybe also extending the time the electro-gates stay open for by half a second or something.

That really was the only flaw, but it was actually a pretty big one.

Fun for a while.

Fun for a short while - maybe five minutes. And I mean that pretty literally, it was "fun" for five minutes, as in I felt a feeling of enjoyment and delight for about 5 minutes. I play alot of flash games, but only the other day did I find one that made me remember what "fun" was, what made it stand out against other kinda of just enjoyment.

So the bottom line is that this is a gameplay intensive, particle-effects-wahey shooter game, and fun should be it's number one export, right into the pleasure center of my brain. But it's not. Instead it seems "generic" is it's number one export, but of course that wouldn't be a problem if it were more fun.

Music is FOR GOD'S SAKE FLASH-GAME DESIGNERS THERE ARE MORE KINDS OF MUSIC THAN TECHNO and the control scheme was pretty awesome. 4/10 | 2/5.

Not bad.

It's a nice effort. I don't think it really works as a satire of casual gaming, but it's a decent start - a bit long though, probably should have ended around level 8.

Nice pastel colors.

Too little effort.

I once reviewed a gadget on this site that simulated an etch-a-sketch. I gave it a 5/10. Why? Because, sure, if I want to draw pictures I can do that with MS Paint. But with that etch-a-sketch thing, I could do with the Arrow Keys! Something different! Something at least slightly interesting! Also, the graphics looked nice.

But here, there isn't anything different or interesting at all. Ok, fine, there are some pretty color effects. But I can get those by drawing in Photoshop. This isn't exactly making me giggle with delight over here. Basically what I'm saying is there's not enough new. Not enough stuff that's actually interesting.

Also, the graphics do not look nice. You put zero effort into the presentation. Unless your flash gadget does something AMAZING, like making the icons on my desktop dance, or converting sentences into music (I'm just making this shit up as I go along btw), then the presentation is 90% of what makes or breaks the submission. There's not much substance in these little things, so they have to look pretty, or at least neat.

Puru Puru is a brand new puzzle game!

Brand new? Yeah, right. Physics puzzle games are so over-done, and the "guide this inanimate thing to an exit" paradigm even more so. The game shows no originality in gameplay, visual style or anything else. It's not particularly fun, either.

KingDotCom responds:

I guess if you think the "guide this inanimate thing to an exit"-paradigm is over-done, you also criticize every single platformer for being "a character running from left to right to get to the exit"?
The game is brand new, we never claimed to reinvent the wheel (very few games do). We're convinced this one is relatively original though, especially with the new items that are introduced from level 6 and onwards (you obviously did not get that far).

As good as ever.

It's just as awesome as ever. Not much new stuff in the sequel, but then not much needed to be changed. It's still lots of fun, still has great music, and the new additions are all pretty good. The upgrade system is a little bit complicated... I don't know if it needed all the extra stuff besides the Star Magnet and the Star Storm or whatever that was called. Being able to change the color of your ship was a nice touch (should have been free, though).

I felt stuff cost too much. Graphics didn't always look quite as pretty as I remember them from the original. But overall, even though I'm not certain a sequel was altogether necessary, it's well-deserving of an 8/10; 5/5.

Could use some extra content.

It's not bad, like that SLAS Lightsaber simulator from a couple years back. What it definitely needs is a more powerful shot. I mean, it just feels like it kind of pops when you pull the trigger. A slightly longer recoil animation, an echo after the noise... I dunno, just a couple of changes are in order to make the shot feel a bit stronger.

But yeah, nice polish and drawing and everything. Pretty cool little SWF. It'd be even better with some extra weapons - sequel?

Oh, and why is this submitted as an Action game? It should be a Gadget.

Nice.

Shows creativity and originality, and is a good game depiction of microbial life. The controls were great, simple but somehow really cool.

The game got very repetitious and actually reminded me of PacMan until I got to the final boss, which was definitely my favorite part. I'd love to see a game pretty much just like this, but with lots more bosses, maybe a story of sorts, maybe some proper levels to swim around in, and some more interesting graphics.
